Favorite Banana Bread

Found in an old Betty Crocker book

Banana Bread

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
3 medium very ripe bananas, mashed
⅓ cup water
1 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
½ t salt
¼ t. baking powder

Preheat oven to 350º.

Grease bottom only of loaf pan.
Cream butter and sugar. Stir in eggs until blended. Add bananas and water; beat 30 seconds. Stir in remaining ingredients until moistened. Pour into pan and bake 55-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5-10 minutes. Loosen sides of loaf from pan. Remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack before slicing. Refrigerate wrapped loaf up to one week.

Notes:

I like to add chocolate chips into the mix and chopped chips and sugar on top.
